Re:Awakenings (Bill Morrison, 2013), excerpt

Re:Awakenings, a short film by Bill Morrison, was produced by Lawrence Weschler on a commission for Commissioned by New York Live Arts as part of ‘Live Ideas: The Worlds of Oliver Sacks’ (17-21 April 2013). It draws from archival footage from 1925, Oliver Sacks’ Super-8 footage of patients at Beth Abraham Hospital, New York, filmed in the summer of 1969, and the later 1974 documentary, ‘Awakenings’.
